Transformation Wednesday – Class I Crowding with an Open Bite Tendency

Class I Crowding with an Open Bite Tendency corrected with Invisalign

In our Transformation Wednesday of this week, we share this amazing transformation of a patient that was treated for a class I crowding with an open bite tendency, severe crowding of the lower arch with minor crowding of the upper.

All tooth alignment was done only with Invisalign!

One lower incisor was extracted to create space, and the patient was able to finish with no restorative dental work done at all on the upper teeth, just some enamel re-contouring to make the edges of the teeth straight.

What is Open Bite?

Open bite is a malocclusion that occurs in the vertical plane, characterized by lack of vertical overlap between the maxillary and mandibular dentition. Open bite can occur in the anterior and the posterior region and are called anterior open bite and posterior open bite respectively.
